Life in Pictures - July 2023

For the most part, I take only take photos on my little trust Ricoh GRIII. I bought myself a little Fjallraven pouch that I take everywhere and it safely holds onto my camera. It always makes ever time I step outside the house just a little special, knowing that I'll have with me something that is a capable of capturing the moment with more soul.

I feel like the iPhone camera is a little too good. The field of view is as wide as you want, the light is always enough and you don't even really have to hold it steady for a clean shot. Though that is precisely why I don't like using it anymore, the clean look feels like it robs the picture of feeling by giving you the all in one convenience of the modern day phone.

July was filled with weekend adventures with the family, visits to a local farm and enjoying local treats and sights. I've started developing a preference for certain film-style filters on the camera and they seem to add a bit more drama and flair to the memory of the moment.

Here are my pics from July!

My son's first set of Matchbox cars and he loves them with all his boyish heart
I discovered a new bakery chain that definitely tasted healthier
A bus sculpture reaching for the sky
Sitting back in an interactive lightshow with my newborn as my son and wife run about.
A cheeky lunch time cocktail
Tasty morsels over a lazy lunch
Cabramatta will always have its charm
Loving this freshly brewed tea spot
Basking in the warm sun during a farm day trip
Ponies with their flaming hairstyles
Top of a kids climbing tower feeling caged.
Kids playgrounds have really levelled up since I was a kid (old man)
My son's cute toes as we ride the trams
Spice Alley lanterns swaying in the wind
A nostalgic corner for me, a place I frequented during my uni days.
